Clear Skies, Clear Answers
Everything you need to know before stepping into the cockpit at Page Field.
How long does PPL training take?
Training duration typically ranges from 40 to 80 hours. Students often reach proficiency around 65 hours, and accelerated schedules are possible with 3+ flights per week. Expect roughly 2–4 months of consistent training to be checkride-ready.
Is training conducted in groups?
No — all instruction is one-on-one with a certified flight instructor. This ensures you get 100% of your instructor’s attention and a curriculum tailored specifically to your learning pace and style.
What FAA regulations govern training?
Training follows FAA Part 61 — the regulations that govern how individual pilots and flight instructors are certified and trained in the United States. Part 61 offers maximum flexibility for students with busy schedules.
Do I get a license at 40 hours of flight time?
Certification depends on proficiency. While 40 hours is the FAA minimum, every student must meet specific FAA performance standards as evaluated by the instructor and examiner. Studying ground materials before and during training leads to significantly quicker results.
Are payments required upfront?
No. At Core Aviator we believe in transparency. You pay per session as your training progresses, so you can manage your budget without large lump-sum commitments.
Are there any big startup or enrollment fees?
We keep startup costs minimal. Beyond your per-session training, the main initial cost is one-on-one ground time with your instructor — the sit-down sessions that make sure your student paperwork, profile, and digital logbook are set up correctly. Contact us for current rates.
Do I need the TSA Flight Training Security Program? I’m not a U.S. citizen.
The TSA Flight Training Security Program requirement applies only to non-U.S. citizens; U.S. citizens are exempt. If you are not a U.S. citizen, you may still be eligible to train with certain visas and prerequisites completed beforehand. Contact us for specific guidance on international-student requirements.
