About Core Aviator Training

The boutique flight school for Fort Myers

Core Aviator Training was built as the opposite of the big-school pipeline: one instructor, one student, one airplane, at Page Field in Fort Myers.

Most flight schools run like queues — rotating instructors, shared aircraft schedules, students learning to pass a test instead of learning to fly. CORE was founded to do the opposite: genuinely private instruction where you keep the same CFI from your discovery flight to your checkride.

That shows up in how lessons run. Every session is a three-hour block: a real pre-flight brief, your time in the air over the Southwest Florida coast, and a post-flight debrief that sets up the next lesson. Nothing is rushed and nothing is recycled.

The standard is simple — train real pilots. It is why students switch to us from other schools, why the Cherokee is kept immaculate, and why our first-time pass rate at Page Field is 99%.

“The engine is the heart of an airplane, but the pilot is its soul.”

Why train here

  • One-on-one, every time

Every lesson is private. One instructor, one student, no shared cockpits. You keep the same instructor from your first flight to your checkride, so nobody ever has to re-teach you.

  • Three-hour blocks

Lessons run in three-hour blocks with a real pre-flight brief and post-flight debrief. You leave every session knowing exactly what you did and what comes next.

  • A towered field, from day one

Page Field (KFMY) is towered and professionally run. You learn real radio work and airspace discipline from your very first hour, instead of bolting it on later.

  • Real pilots, not a pilot mill

We train you to be a good pilot, not just to pass a test. A 99% first-time pass rate and a lot of happy students back that up.

First light

The smoothest air of the day is at dawn.

Calm, stable, and empty of traffic. It is why the first lesson on the schedule is so often the one students remember.

Tools that match the standard

One airplane, kept immaculate

The low-wing advantage is real training value: the wing dips out of your sightline in the turn, the wide gear stance is stable in crosswinds, and fuel checks are a direct visual inspection — no ladder required.
